RIDING SCHOOL

The Kuala Lumpur Polo Club (KLPC) is built upon a rich heritage of equestrianism, where riding is not only a skill but a tradition. Historically, our club’s riders were among Malaysia’s best, representing the nation in prestigious events like the South East Asian Horse Trials, SEA Games, and Inter-Port events across Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Manila. Many have advanced to compete on the world stage in World Cup shows and at the South East Asian Games and the Asian Games.

Today, the journey to mastering polo at KLPC begins with a foundation in riding. Our Riding School, managed by the KL Academy of Polo, is dedicated to cultivating skilled riders from the ground up. Whether your ultimate goal is to excel in polo or simply develop confidence and proficiency in equestrianism, it all starts here. Our professional instructors are committed to guiding you or your child through every stage of learning, ensuring a solid base in riding skills essential for advancing in the sport.

KLPC also works closely with the Equestrian Association of Malaysia (EAM), the national body representing equestrian sports in the country. Together, we have hosted numerous international Showjumping, Dressage and Tent-Pegging events, bringing world-class equestrian competition to Malaysia. This partnership with the EAM underscores our commitment to elevating the standards of equestrian sports for our members and the broader community.

Lessons at the Riding School are available for members and their children, and this vibrant section of KLPC also regularly hosts horse shows, gymkhana games and family-focused events. With a stable of 15 well-trained horses and ponies, we are dedicated to training the next generation of riders and polo players, fostering a lifelong passion for equestrian pursuits within our community.

RIDING FOR THE DISABLED (RDA)

The Riding for the Disabled Association Malaysia (RDA Malaysia) was founded largely through the vision and commitment of our then President Y.M. Raja Aman Shah. In January 1989, he initiated a therapeutic riding program for five children from the Spastic Children Association of Selangor and the Federal Territory, marking the beginning of RDA Malaysia. Since then, our Club has proudly served as the founding branch of this impactful organization.

RDA Malaysia is a voluntary, non-profit organization dedicated to offering therapeutic riding experiences to children and young adults with various disabilities. With ten branches across Malaysia, RDA Malaysia continues to expand its reach and is a proud member of the Federation of Riding for the Disabled International, sharing a global commitment to enhancing lives through the power of riding.
